Birthday Picnick

This month was Mango's second birthday. Last year, we celebrate with another tiny tot of January born. This year, the party got bigger and we celebrated with 5 other kids who were born in January 2011.

 Mayur helped decorate mini-cakes the day before.

We celebrated the joint birthday in a park just like last year. The day was sunny and warm - just what we hoped for.

2011 was a year of Rabbit. So we have ordered bunny jump suits for all six children. The suits came out to be smaller than expected - and some couldn't fit in. Mango who normally likes huts and caps, didn't like the bunny hood attached to the suit. His bunny tail was also making him impossible to sit.

 Mango was impatiently waiting for the cake cut.

アルワール旅行

皆さん、明けましておめでとうございます。今年もめげずにブログを続けたいと思うのでよろしくお願いします。

とっさの思いつきで、年末に家族旅行をしてきました。自家用車で2泊3日の旅、デリーから4時間くらいのところにあるラジャスタン州のアルワールという街まで行ってきました。

アルワールには今や役所と化した宮殿があって、そこが唯一の見所。

きちんと保存されていたらさぞかし綺麗な宮殿だったのではないかと思うのですが、中庭では少年たちがクリケットしていました。

 

アルワールの街は小さくて、この宮殿以外たいした見所はないのですが、目下のお目当てはアルワールから更に80kmほどいった村にある階段井戸。

ここは前々から訪れてみたかった場所。アグラやジャイプールといったインドの超有名観光地からほど遠くない場所に位置しているのに、以外と知られていないこの場所。

井戸の深さに圧倒されます（高所恐怖症なので足がすくむ。。。） 。

この階段井戸と隣接する寺院には古びた彫刻がそこらじゅうにゴロゴロ。彫刻好きの私にはたまらない場所でした。思わず写真をパチリ、パチリ、パチリ。。。Mayurちゃんに「いつまで撮り続けるの？」と聞かれてしまいました。

彫刻の写真はまだまだあるのですが、この辺で終わりにします。
